Starbucks to Offer free WiFi

2008 February 23

Yes, Starbucks has finally shaken the shackles of T-Mobile to catch up with the rest of the coffeeshop world in offering free WiFi. This Spring 2 hours of free WiFi will be available for any Starbucks card holder (you know, those gift cards you can recharge?). I still say, support local business and bypass the corporate coffee when you can. But, unfortunately, that’s not always an option, certainly not always a palatable one.

Now, if Barnes & Noble and Borders would just get on board, we could all be jacked into the Matrix even more of the time!

wish i could come and visit you and get a cup of coffee and catch up! it’s funny … Starbucks prides itself on creating an atmosphere of connections … i guess offering WiFi gets you connected in a different way!

I love the local business approach as well, unfortunately the suburban sprawl of Gilbert, AZ has seemed to only breed Starbucks. Since I have no office, It’s my only option. tear.

Next time you’re in Maine, I’ll treat you to a nice cup from our very own Maine Bean. It’s my branch office. Beautiful field-stone fireplace cathedral ceilings, post and beam, and FREE wireless from day one.

Starbucks’ resolution is still pathetic if I’ve got it straight. Just 2 hrs and only for card holders? That’s ridiculous!
