Here are some great book covers by Ben Hansen for my forthcoming book(let): Fight Club: Gospel-centered Discipleship. I’d love your feedback.

Love two and five, JD. I am excited to read the book.
Excuse me, ONE and five
I think the first one is the best. The large amount of blank space works well, and the boxing gloves sitting by themselves say all they need to.
I think I’d agree that #1 might be most effective. I’d stay away from an italic sans serif font, as that’d edge you perhaps too close to the logo for the movie “Fight Club.” #1 is intriguing, and would invite questions from those who might see someone carrying the book around, or reading it in a subway. Classic black/white/red colors. It’s a “man’s” cover, IMO. :-)
Ted.
this isnt related to the book fight club by chuck palahniuk is it? because in that it was bare knuckle
I choose #1 by far. Also, I’m new to what your book is about but if part of your readership will be women at all, I think Number 1 would be best hands down for our sake :) But if it’s mostly male readers, than have at the others.
I’m digging #1 and #5, and stoked about your book. Your work on gospel-centered accountability and discipleship has helped me immensely. Keep charging for our Captain and King brother, it’s all for Him.
God Bless,
JD

#1 as far as I’m concerned.
Good stuff man, looking forward to the book.
#1 is a very powerful image. In the others you tend to focus on the fighter.
I guess I’m alone on #2 and 3. But I can definitely see Samantha’s point (and others) on how #1 could appeal to more readers. Any of these covers would probably stoke a conversation if I were sipping some coffee at the Maine Bean.
Would it be possible to modify #5 with either a simple fist or a fist wearing a UFC-esque glove? That might be my favorite…if it existed.
#1 gets my vote, I like the simplicity and the white . . . well black space works well.
#5, then #1
I’m too indecisive to vote but I just wanted to say that that’s awesome you’re doing this!!
What I like about #6 is that it’s the only one that hints at the concept of community which is a big part of the Fight CLUB.
Thanks for all your feedback guys! Looks like it will be 1 or 5, probably #1, especially since this is not a male-centered book but meant to serve both men and women in fighting the fight of faith.
As my wife pointed out, 1 has intrigue. Are the gloves going on or off? What’s going to happen? Plus, it appeals to both genders. Ben Hansen has done an amazing job!
I like 5 and then 1. bro, cant wait for the book!
#1
Dodson – when is this due out?
Thanks to all who voted!!
Fight Club should be available by the first week of May, no later, Lord willing. It will be a free e-book at Resurgence first, then print.
Number one is the best of the lot. Looking forward to reading this, Jonathan
I like one and five. But to be totally honest I think you should be looking for a more aggressive cover. Perhaps something borrowed from the MMA. Maybe even some bloodied up bare knuckles.
