I’ve been pretty slack about updating this list, but here are the current reads.

    How’s The Courage to be Protestant?

    It’s classic Wells but with greater clarity than his previous four books. He’s good for me because he often pushes the Christ vs. Culture position.

    However, its mainly a socialological, historical, theological tirade against Emergent and Church Marketing.

    what are your thoughts on the “cannanite myth and Hebrew epic?”

    Frank Moore Cross has an incredible grasp of the ancient world and Judaism. His book From Epic to Canon has some real insight into Jewish life and covenant. However, both books are slow reading, pretty academic stuff and tend to assume a certain level of knowledge. All that said, Epic to Canon is the better place to start.

    Some of his theories regarding the transmission of the Hebrew Scriptures are, just that, theories but very intriguing.
